Hotel Duty Manager - Full Time (Seasonal)
We are looking for an experienced, personable and hands‑on Duty Manager to take responsibility for the day‑to‑day operation of our hotel in Perthshire.
This is a key position within the hotel and would suit someone who enjoys being actively involved in the operation, providing excellent hospitality to guests while ensuring the hotel runs smoothly, safely and to a consistently high standard.
The Duty Manager will oversee the guest experience, coordinate and manage the housekeeping team, deal with day‑to‑day operational matters and act as a senior point of contact while on duty.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the smooth day‑to‑day operation of the hotel
- Provide a warm, professional and attentive experience for guests
- Manage guest arrivals, departures and enquiries
- Handle guest requests, feedback and any issues that arise during their stay
- Manage, support and coordinate the housekeeping team
- Ensure guest bedrooms, communal areas and facilities are maintained to a high standard
- Organise housekeeping priorities and room changeovers in line with arrivals and departures
- Carry out regular checks to ensure standards of cleanliness and presentation are maintained
- Liaise with management and other members of the team to ensure effective communication across the hotel
- Identify and report maintenance issues and coordinate appropriate action where required
- Help manage suppliers, deliveries and other day‑to‑day operational requirements
- Ensure hotel procedures and standards are followed
- Maintain appropriate records and complete routine administrative duties associated with the operation of the hotel
- Act as a trained First Aider while on duty
- Act as a Fire Warden and help ensure appropriate fire safety procedures and checks are followed
- Assist with emergency procedures and ensure the safety and wellbeing of guests and staff
- Take responsibility for the hotel and make sensible operational decisions when senior management are not on site
Transport
Due to the hotel’s location, own transport is preferred. However, we understand that transport can be challenging in rural areas and subsidised transport can be provided for the right candidate, based on location.
We are looking for someone who will treat the hotel as if it were their own while on duty — taking pride in its presentation, looking after our guests and supporting the team to deliver consistently high standards.
If you are an experienced hospitality professional looking for a varied, hands‑on management position in Perthshire, we would be delighted to hear from you.
As we are a new business, we are looking for people who want to grow with us, so there will be growth opportunities available as other roles on site become available.
Applicants must already have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom. Please note that we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position, either now or in the future. All successful candidates will be required to provide satisfactory evidence of their right to work in the UK before commencing employment.
