Senior Data Engineer
Senior Data Engineer - A hands‑on engineering role building and optimising scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and Lakehouse architectures across a modern multi‑cloud platform using Python, Spark, Airflow and dbt.
Responsibilities
- Build and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL and Spark/Py Spark.
- Manage Airflow DAGs and implement dbt transformations.
- Design medallion‑style Lakehouse architectures using S3 with Iceberg or Delta Lake table formats.
- Create reusable frameworks, enforce data contracts, and build CI/CD pipelines for data delivery.
- Establish observability practices and implement validation frameworks, SLIs and SLOs for critical pipelines.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of data engineering experience.
- Strong Python and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience with Airflow, Spark/Py Spark, dbt and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency with Lakehouse architectures, dimensional modelling and cloud data warehouses (S3, Athena, Redshift).
- Expertise in data quality frameworks, monitoring and schema evolution.
- Nice‑to‑Haves
- Experience with streaming platforms such as Kafka or Kinesis.
- Knowledge of AI coding assistants and related tooling.
- Familiarity with Terraform, Kubernetes or Docker.
- Experience in data catalog or metadata management.
