Kindred Recruitment is looking for an exceptional PR Account Director with deep, demonstrable expertise in the travel industry to join an award-winning, fast-growing agency. This is a senior role for someone who is already operating at Account Director level and is ready to play a pivotal role in shaping client strategy, driving growth and contributing to the next phase of the agency’s success.

This role would suit a highly motivated, commercially minded travel PR specialist who thrives in or has the desire to move to an agile, high-performing agency environment, enjoys autonomy and responsibility and wants to make a visible impact.

About the role

As Account Director, you will lead a diverse portfolio of travel clients spanning cruise, airlines, tourism boards, tour operators, luxury destinations, hotels and resorts. You will be responsible for setting and delivering strategic PR programmes while remaining hands-on and closely involved in day-to-day execution.

You will act as a trusted senior advisor to clients, managing relationships at a high level, identifying opportunities, and ensuring campaigns deliver measurable impact. At the same time, you will be comfortable rolling up your sleeves – pitching stories, securing coverage, briefing media using your UK network, writing copy and managing fast-moving news cycles.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and develop strategic PR programmes across a broad range of travel clients.
  • Serve as the senior day-to-day contact for clients, building strong, trusted relationships.
  • Deliver standout media relations activity, securing high-quality coverage across UK travel, lifestyle, consumer and trade media.
  • Use your established UK travel media network to generate proactive opportunities and react quickly to news.
  • Oversee account planning, budgets, reporting and team performance.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, fostering excellence and confidence.
  • Play an active role in new business development, including pitching, proposal writing and presenting.
  • Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts and help drive agency revenue.
  • Stay ahead of travel trends, industry developments and media shifts.

About you

You are an experienced travel PR professional who brings both strategic thinking and practical delivery. You are confident, credible and commercially aware, with a passion for the travel sector and a strong understanding of how media works today.

You will have:

  • Proven experience at Account Director level within a PR agency.
  • Deep sector knowledge across multiple areas of travel, including luxury and mainstream markets.
  • A strong and current UK travel media contact book.
  • A track record of delivering creative, results-driven PR campaigns.
  • Experience pitching and winning new business.
  • Excellent writing, presentation and communication skills.
  • The confidence to operate autonomously while being a collaborative team player.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude and comfort working in a fast-paced environment.

My client is a small but mighty agency with an outstanding reputation, ambitious growth plans and a superb client. Their size means your voice will be heard, your ideas will matter, and your impact will be tangible. You’ll work closely with senior leadership, have real scope to shape the role, and enjoy the freedom that comes with a genuinely agile agency.

If you are a senior travel PR professional looking for your next challenge – somewhere you can lead, influence and continue to grow – I would love to hear from you.

Sponsorship is unavailable for this role and candidates applying must have demonstrable UK experience.
