Trustee for non-profit organisation. My client has an exciting opportunity for a senior-level professional with a career in charity to join their Board of Trustees. The Board is evolving to increase its impact, with a particular emphasis on strategic decision-making and measurable outcomes. As a trustee, you will play a key role in guiding the charity’s strategic direction, supporting its development and growth, and helping to ensure the organisation meets and delivers its vision. This is a crucial time for my client, as they seek to hear from dynamic individuals who can contribute to the governance and leadership of the charity. My client is keen to speak with individuals with strong strategic and operational expertise from a charitable organisation who can bring fresh insights to the Board and help shape a future of innovation and measurable impact for my client.
About You
- Senior-level, strategic operational experience in the charity or not-for-profit sector
- An interest in contributing to a Board focused on creating positive impact through innovation and leadership
In return, my client is committed to:
- Sponsoring Trustee or Non-Executive Director training, such as the Institute of Directors (IOD) programme
- Providing mentorship from senior Trustees and former Trustees
Responsibilities
- Contributing to the strategic leadership of the charity and ensuring its continued success
- Providing independent oversight and guidance on governance, risk management, and financial sustainability
- Offering expert insights and experience to enhance decision-making and long-term planning
- Supporting and challenging the Executive Team to ensure the effective implementation of the charity’s mission and objectives
- Attending and actively participating in Board meetings, strategy days, and sub-committee meetings as appropriate
Time Commitment
The Board of Trustees meets four times a year in London, along with one annual strategy day (overnight stay required), all scheduled well in advance. Trustees may also be invited to undertake additional responsibilities, such as participation in sub-committees aligned with their areas of expertise or attendance at award presentations and key events. While this is a voluntary role, all reasonable expenses related to your duties will be reimbursed. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to contribute to meaningful change.
