This Baby Room Specialist role has been created for someone with in-depth knowledge and understanding of baby development and behaviour, and a genuine passion for supporting children aged two years and under. This is a unique opportunity to shape and develop this leadership role, sharing your expertise while helping to build an outstanding baby room environment.
You will play a key role in guiding practice, supporting your team, and educating parents on the incredible early development journey of babies.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support, educate, and guide staff and parents on baby development and milestones, including sleep and safe sleeping, feeding, nutrition, and weaning
- Promote and model best practice in attachment, bonding, and emotional development
- Model and monitor safe carrying and handling of babies
- Work closely with your team to create a shared vision for the baby room
- Maintain a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment
- Supervise, support, and allocate tasks and responsibilities within the team
- Support new starter inductions, welcoming them into the Kindred family
- Carry out supervisions, one-to-one meetings, and performance management where required
- Deputise in the absence of senior management where required
- Conduct nursery tours confidently with prospective parents
- Act as a key holder for the nursery where required
- Keep accurate records and ensure procedures are followed in line with regulatory requirements
What You’ll Need
Essential
- Full and relevant Early Years Level 3 Childcare Qualification (or higher)
- Experience working with children aged under two
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Good time management and ability to meet deadlines
- A commitment to providing outstanding customer service
Desirable
- Experience in a leadership or senior role
- Paediatric First Aid Certificate
- Safeguarding and Child Protection training (full training will be provided)
- Food Hygiene Certificate
