What You’ll Be Doing
Nursery Responsibilities
- Support the Nursery Manager, Deputy Manager, and Room Leaders to ensure the highest standards of Early Years care and education
- Maintain an organised, safe, and stimulating nursery environment
- Keep accurate records and ensure procedures are followed within the room
- Help build and maintain the nursery’s reputation as the setting of choice for children and employees
- Model and monitor best practice in accordance with regulatory guidelines
- Support and inspire your team of Room Leaders and Practitioners
- Aid with induction of new team members, welcoming them into the Kindred family
Daily Duties
- Provide a friendly approach with parents, carers, colleagues, and children
- Ensure a safe, stimulating, and educational environment for children to learn, play, and explore
- Maintain a homely, clean, and organised environment
- Implement inspiring activities for children to learn through play
- Build relationships with Key Children and record their interests and achievements
- Communicate with parents/carers via our Satchel app, face-to-face meetings, or reports
- Follow company Policies and Procedures
- Support safeguarding as a shared responsibility
Leadership Responsibilities
- Deputise in the absence of the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager
- Work with your team to create a shared vision for the nursery
- Lead by example and model good practice
- Supervise, support, and allocate tasks to your team
- Conduct regular supervision meetings to discuss team strengths and areas for improvement
- Conduct interviews for internal and external applicants
- Support new starter inductions and mentor new staff
- Respond to complaints and concerns raised to the management team
- Conduct nursery tours confidently, promoting available spaces
- Complete administrative tasks accurately and on time
- Ensure compliance with statutory guidelines, company policies, procedures, and risk assessments
- Act as a key holder for the nursery
Other Responsibilities
- Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, training, parent information sessions, and nursery functions
- Support marketing events and activities, including those during evenings or weekends
What You’ll Need
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational ability and attention to detail
- Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines
- Experience in leading and managing a team
- Full and relevant Early Years Level 3 Childcare Qualification or higher
- Sound knowledge of EYFS guidelines
