The Impact You Will Make
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Hygienist to support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of occupational health and safety programs across the organisation. The role is critical in identifying, assessing, and controlling workplace health hazards to ensure compliance with occupational health, environmental, and safety legislation. The Industrial Hygienist will lead exposure and risk assessments (chemical, physical, and biological), conduct workplace monitoring and audits, and support incident and health-related investigations. They will provide specialist advice, training, and guidance to employees and leaders, and collaborate closely with cross‑functional stakeholders to strengthen health protection measures, promote a proactive safety culture, and reduce occupational and operational risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs IH and Noise monitoring across the various functions in accordance with the defined plan.
- Completes chemical hazard banding based upon inherent toxicity to support NPI (new Process Introduction) process.
- Maintains associated IH data entry to Kindeva databases.
- Produces reports and utilises statistical analysis to support the conclusion of monitoring exercises.
- Generate HAZ cards to detail the outcome of exposure assessments, including Personal and Respiratory Protective Equipment requirements (PPE / RPE).
- Establishes, organises and oversees accurate and current records for all chemicals handled on site, including site chemical inventory management and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
- Reviews and approves key site documentation pertaining to new chemicals, noise and personal/respiratory requirements.
- Manages the Location Respirator Face Fit Testing programme via an external provider.
- Organises and maintains IH / noise Equipment, including annual external calibration.
- Supports ergonomic and manual handling assessment using ART, MAC and RAPP tools.
- Assists with both internal and external audits to ensure legislative compliance and adherence to ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Supports site EHS training requirements as required, including update of training packages and tool box talks.
- Provides ad hoc support to the wider EHS team, including documentation/document control.
- Maintains an awareness and enhances knowledge with respect to UK-based legislation and Kindeva Global Requirements.
