Kindeva is a global pharmaceutical contract developer and manufacturer (CDMO) business headquartered in St. Paul, MN. Kindeva was established following 3M's sale of substantially all its drug delivery business to affiliates of Altaris Capital Partners. Kindeva is navigating a period of dynamic change and growth as a result of the sale and business opportunities in its pipeline. Kindeva partners with global pharmaceutical companies to commercialise products, primarily through inhalation and transdermal delivery technologies.
We are currently looking for an Apprentice to join our Analytical Services organisation in Loughborough, Charnwood Campus.
Overall Mission
The Kindeva Drug Delivery Ltd. site in Loughborough manufactures and packages pharmaceutical and medical products in various forms. This role will be working as part of the Analytical Services team, responsible for the testing and development of new pressurised metered dose inhalation pharmaceutical products.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Carry out analytical testing compliant with GMP regulations, delivering to plan on time in full.
- Input into protocol design to deliver robust data and outcomes whilst working in a fast, flexible environment, with a strong focus on right first time.
- Highlight any instrumentation or product issues to supervisor. Support appropriate laboratory investigations to identify root cause and disposition action in a timely manner.
- Support the operation of specific functional tasks and activities in line with project requirements.
- Ensure that the quality of the data generated is fit for purpose and all data are appropriately evaluated.
- Establish clear communication channels with other teams within the department.
- Work in a manner consistent with baseline expectations with particular focus on Safety and GxP.
- Work in a safe manner taking responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others. Participate in safety initiatives within the group.
- Maintain good laboratory housekeeping.
- Establish Continuous Improvement as part of “normal” everyday work.
- Monitor self-performance against set targets.
- Capture best practices and learnings.
- Strive for on time in full performance in every activity and to minimise the cost of poor quality.
Safety
- Promote a “safety first” culture and environment.
- Raise and report any safety incident as required.
- Complete Corrective Action Preventative Action (CAPA) closures on time in full.
Knowledge & Skills
- Desirable to understand basic Analytical Chemistry.
- Desirable to understand Analytical instrumentation such as HPLC and GC.
- Desirable to understand basic statistics and the ability to interpret data and make decisions.
- Have a good understanding of the principles of GMP and GcLP and safe working practices.
- Computer literate, familiar with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Experience
- Desirable to have relevant laboratory experience in academia or industry.
Qualifications/Requirements
- All applicants must be 18 or older and must be eligible to work in the UK and meet the Government Apprenticeship funding rules.
- Applicants should have a minimum (or predicted minimum) of 104 UCAS points at A-level (grades BCC), with one being chemistry or an equivalent scientific discipline.
- Applicants should have GCSE Mathematics and English Language (grade A*-C / 9-4) or equivalent.
- Other equivalent qualifications (e.g. T-levels or BTEC diploma/extended diploma in a scientific discipline) will be considered.
Requirements of the Apprenticeship:
Alongside work-based learning, you’ll study towards your BSc (Hons) Chemical Science degree with Manchester Metropolitan University. You will be given one day per week (day-release) to complete University work. Apprentices will attend a two-day induction at the university, as well as a two-day mini-residential in the first year. They will also attend a week-long residential at the campus once a year. Applicants must be able to make travel arrangements to and from Manchester (i.e., driving or take public transport).
