Role Overview

As a Domestic Helper the purpose of your position will be to support staff in day-to-day domestic tasks and ensure the smooth operation of the nursery environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support staff in day to day domestic tasks
  • Ensure all laundry is completed daily
  • Help staff clean up after meal times
  • Prepare children’s nap time beds
  • Assist the chef wash up after meals
  • Regularly sanitise touch points
  • Help keep the staff room tidy
  • Monitor stock and report to management any order needs
  • Carry trays of food to the children’s rooms
  • Monitor toilet cleanliness throughout the day
  • Support staff in cleaning up messy activities
  • Use own initiative and ask the manager where support is needed

Working Hours

Monday – Friday from 9am to 5pm, or 9am to 3pm. Hours may be amended for the right candidate.

Safeguarding

We have named persons within the nursery who take lead responsibility for safeguarding and coordinate child protection and welfare issues, known as the Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL). There is always at least one designated person on duty during the opening hours of the setting. All applicants should be aware that a huge part of the role is ensuring children are continuously safeguarded from any harm. Any job offers will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, thorough referencing, an induction programme, and a 3‑month probation period. All successful candidates will be given extensive training upon starting their role.
