A lovely family based in Notting Hill is looking for an experienced and highly organised House Manager / Mother's Help to start as soon as possible. They need someone who can come in immediately, get stuck in, and take full ownership of the smooth running and organisation of the household from day one.
This is a varied, hands-on position for someone who thrives in a busy private household and enjoys bringing structure, order and efficiency to a home. The family has three children aged 15, 13 and 9. The eldest is at boarding school, so this role is not primarily childcare focused. Instead, the priority is strong household management, ensuring everything is running seamlessly and proactively supporting the mother with day-to-day organisation.
A key part of the role will be taking charge of household organisation, including:
- Organising rooms
- Managing cupboards and storage spaces
- Completing regular stock takes to ensure the home is fully stocked, equipped and well maintained at all times
The ideal candidate will naturally notice what needs replenishing, what needs tidying, and what needs putting in place, and will act on it without needing direction. The role also includes overseeing household maintenance, coordinating any necessary repairs or trades, and ensuring the home is kept in excellent working order. There are already cleaners and housekeepers in place, so there is no deep cleaning involved. Instead, the focus is on oversight, organisation and making sure all household systems and services are running efficiently.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Family cooking
- Running errands such as shopping and post office trips
- Setting up and resetting household spaces
- Supporting general household administration and organisation
The role also involves caring for the family’s two friendly Labradors, including walking them, as well as occasional house sitting when the family is away. From time to time, some weekend support may be required, particularly when the children are at home. Any additional hours worked will be given back in lieu. The family operates in a flexible and relaxed way regarding hours, and once tasks are completed, the day can typically finish early.
However, they are looking for someone highly proactive, dependable and committed to ensuring everything is always taken care of properly. They are seeking someone with prior experience in high net worth private households who is confident managing a busy home, highly organised, and able to take initiative. The ideal person will take pride in creating order, anticipating needs and ensuring the household runs effortlessly at all times.
