Job Description

We are hiring for one of our wonderful returning families! This is a fantastic opportunity to be the next long term, well paid, nanny to a kind, caring and generous family, which is relocating back to London in August 2026. They are looking for a kind, organised and experienced, German speaking nanny to join them from October 2026 for long term. Although most of your time will be spent with the 2yr old twins, they have four children aged 9, 7 and 2 year old twins. Both parents work in demanding roles within the software industry and are looking for someone dependable who can become a long term part of the family’s routine.

The two eldest boys currently attend an international school in Germany and will move to a Fulham day school when the family returns to London. The twins will remain at home initially before starting nursery around the age of three. The household is fully bilingual and operates a “one parent one language” approach, with the mother speaking English and the father speaking German, so a native level German speaker with fluent English is essential.

The family are seeking a nanny with at least five years of professional experience who is confident managing a busy household with children of mixed ages. The role will include full nursery duties for the twins during the day, as well as school pick ups and after school care for the older children. Supporting homework, preparing healthy meals, organising school bags and children’s belongings, and helping to maintain a calm and structured routine will all form part of the position. The family values kindness, good manners and consistency, particularly as the eldest child benefits from clear routines and patient support.

This is a live out role based in Fulham, with working hours Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 6pm. The position offers a competitive London salary and 25 days of paid holiday per year. The family employs a weekly cleaner so no housekeeping is required beyond general tidying related to the children. They are looking for someone warm, reliable and collaborative who will work closely with them to help create a happy and organised home environment.

Requirements

  • Strong ability to create a nurturing, safe, happy environment
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Punctual, reliable, and legally able to work in the UK
  • Current valid Enhanced DBS - on the DBS update service
  • Current Paediatric First Aid certificate
  • Right to work in UK & already living within a 45 min commute
  • Good references for recent and relevant nanny work
  • Demonstrate longevity in previous similar nanny roles (2 to 5 years in nanny jobs)
  • Able to run after small children
  • Used to shared and sole charge
  • Similar experience
  • Be able to engage in play at floor level for extended periods of time and get up from the floor quickly.

Please note this is a strictly Non smoking position.

How to prepare for a job interview at Kinder Nannies & Staff Ltd.

Know the Family's Needs

Before your interview, take some time to understand the family's requirements. Familiarise yourself with their routine, the ages of the children, and the bilingual environment they maintain. This will help you tailor your responses and show that you're genuinely interested in becoming a part of their family.

Showcase Your Experience

With at least five years of experience required, be ready to discuss specific examples from your past roles. Highlight situations where you've successfully managed a busy household or supported children with homework. This will demonstrate your capability and reliability as a nanny.

Demonstrate Your Language Skills

Since the family operates in both German and English, it's crucial to showcase your fluency in both languages during the interview. You might even want to prepare a few phrases or scenarios in German to illustrate your comfort level and ability to communicate effectively with the children.

Emphasise Your Organisational Skills

The role requires excellent organisational skills, so be prepared to discuss how you manage daily routines, meal prep, and school pick-ups. Share any strategies you use to keep things running smoothly, as this will reassure the family that you can maintain a calm and structured environment for their children.
