A lovely family based in Notting Hill is looking for an experienced and highly organised House Manager / Mother’s Help to start as soon as possible. They need someone who can come in immediately, get stuck in, and take full ownership of the smooth running and organisation of the household from day one. This is a varied, hands-on position for someone who thrives in a busy private household and enjoys bringing structure, order and efficiency to a home. The family has three children aged 15, 13 and 9. The eldest is at boarding school, so this role is not primarily childcare focused. Instead, the priority is strong household management, ensuring everything is running seamlessly and proactively supporting the mother with day-to-day organisation.
Responsibilities
- Take charge of household organisation, including organising rooms, managing cupboards and storage spaces, and completing regular stock takes to ensure the home is fully stocked, equipped and well maintained at all times.
- Oversee household maintenance, coordinate any necessary repairs or trades, and ensure the home is kept in excellent working order.
- Provide family cooking, run errands such as shopping and post office trips, set up and reset household spaces, and support general household administration and organisation.
- Care for the family’s two friendly Labradors, including walking them, and take on occasional house-sitting when the family is away.
- Offer weekend support as required, particularly when the children are at home. Additional hours worked will be given back in lieu, with a flexible and relaxed approach to hours.
