We are seeking a dedicated, German-speaking nanny/nanny-tutor with a strong educational focus to join a welcoming family in Chelsea, London. Working with a six-year-old boy and a four-year-old girl, the role centres on nurturing their development and supporting their language and cognitive growth in a warm, engaging environment. The family is extremely flexible and can tweak the role according to the nanny-tutor's schedule. Their ideal hours would be 2pm til 6.30pm, Monday to Friday. But they can do shorter hours, or a 3 or 4 day week. Tell the agency which days and hours suit you :) A nanny-tutor who drives is preferred but driving is not necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Provide attentive care and guide both children's intellectual and personal development
- Support and expand their German language skills through structured activities and natural conversation
- Create a safe, inspiring environment that encourages learning and curiosity
- Assist with early learning, homework, and exam preparation to build strong academic foundations
- Work with the housekeeper to maintain an organised, learning-oriented space
- Plan age-appropriate, educational activities to support cognitive and social development
- Manage school pickups, playdates, and extracurricular activities that complement their learning
- Maintain clear, consistent communication with parents about the children's progress and developmental milestones
Requirements:
- Native or fluent German speaker
- Proven experience in education, tutoring, or child development
- Strong ability to create a nurturing, educational atmosphere
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Punctual, reliable, and legally able to work in the UK (can provide sponsorship for exceptional candidates)
- Experienced nanny
- Outdoorsy, active nanny, with lots of initiative and energy
- Trustworthy and reliable
- Up to date Enhanced DBS (on DBS update service)
- Recent Paediatric First Aid certificate
- Right to work in UK (already living in the UK) and have proof
- Good references for recent and relevant nanny work
- Able to run after children
- Be able to engage in play at floor level for extended periods of time and get up from the floor quickly
- Fluent English
- Fluent German
- Living within reasonable commutable distance
