The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years’ professional experience, childcare qualifications, and a proven track record of working with babies and toddlers. This is a long-term role for someone who will become an integral part of our family and build a strong bond with our child.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide loving, attentive care for our baby, ensuring safety is always the top priority.
- Confidently manage sole charge and shared care (as a parent occasionally works from home).
- Prepare healthy, age-appropriate meals for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers as the child grows.
- Handle all nursery duties, including cleaning up after meals, rotating and sanitising toys, and maintaining a tidy environment.
- Plan and organise stimulating, fun, and educational activities both indoors and outdoors.
- Take initiative to arrange appropriate playdates, including reciprocal playdates.
- Support developmental milestones, including weaning, potty training and early literacy (reading).
- Manage child-related housework only (no general family cooking nor general housework).
- Occasionally accompany the family on short trips for holidays or business (short, never extended stays).
- Be open to occasional proxy parenting when both parents are away, when baby is a bit older.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years’ experience as a nanny or with some professional nursery childcare too.
- Relevant childcare qualifications.
- Extensive sole charge experience with babies and toddlers.
- Fully confident in sole charge and shared care arrangements.
- Highly organised, clean, and proactive.
- Ability to cook healthy, age-appropriate balanced meals for young children.
- Strong understanding of child development and safety practices.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Flexible and committed to a long-term role.
- Paediatric First Aid within the last 3 years with CPR certification.
Language Requirement
Must speak German to the child to support bilingual upbringing (English and German). Open to other languages French or Spanish if not a German speaker.
