Kinara are representing a growing orthopaedic medical device company with a strong and expanding presence across the UK. We're searching for a driven and commercially sharp Business Development Manager to take ownership of their shoulder arthroplasty business across the South of England. This is a high-visibility role, reporting directly to the UK General Manager, with real scope to shape strategy and grow key accounts nationally.
What the role involves:
- Driving sales performance
- Cultivating and managing relationships with key opinion leaders in shoulder surgery
- Developing strategic accounts at both local and national level
- Providing in-theatre case cover and local clinical support for customers
- Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities across NHS and private sector
- Leading national tender negotiations and pricing discussions
- Organising and attending training courses for surgeons in the UK and Europe
- Presenting and managing a monthly territory business plan
- Mentoring and developing junior sales colleagues
What our client is looking for:
- Minimum 5 years' orthopaedic sales experience - shoulder arthroplasty experience required (upper limb/ sports med - shoulder network)
- Proven track record in both account management and new business development
- Experience navigating NHS procurement and working with senior hospital stakeholders
- Strong commercial acumen - comfortable with margins, P&L, and pricing strategy
- Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills
- Highly organised and self-motivated - able to operate independently
- Degree-level education; life sciences background preferred but not essential
