Night Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) - Full-Time

Hours: 39 hours per week. Shift Pattern: Wednesday to Friday (12-hour shifts) plus 1 in 4 Saturday nights (12 hours).

Salary: £29,250 per annum (basic) plus £9,360 night premium (total £38,610 per annum).

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year qualified (preferred).
  • Experience in anaesthesia and patient care essential.

Role Overview:

The role of the Night RVN is critical to maintaining high standards of patient and client care, ensuring the highest levels of welfare for hospitalised and emergency patients. You will work closely with the Out of Hours (OOH) team to provide dedicated overnight nursing support.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to hospitalised patients, including monitoring critical care cases.
  • Assist veterinary surgeons with in-patient care, emergency cases, and clinical procedures.
  • Monitor anaesthesia and support surgical and emergency interventions.
  • Ensure smooth and effective patient handovers between shifts.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly reassess nursing care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Dispense and administer medications under veterinary direction.
  • Communicate effectively with clients.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and equipment care.
