We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join our team at Swayne & Partners in Long Melford. With a proud history of providing exceptional veterinary care across Suffolk, Swayne & Partners is a trusted, community-focused practice where our teams build lasting relationships with clients, patients and each other. Our Long Melford branch offers a welcoming and supportive environment where every team member plays an important role in delivering outstanding first opinion care. We are now looking for a friendly and enthusiastic RVN to join our close-knit team and become part of a practice where people genuinely enjoy coming to work.

About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an RVN looking for a varied first opinion nursing role within a supportive and experienced team. Whether you are newly qualified or an experienced nurse, we are more interested in your passion for patient care, your approach to teamwork and finding the right cultural fit. Working alongside our experienced veterinary surgeons and nursing team, you will be involved in all aspects of general practice nursing, including:

  • Theatre nursing, surgical preparation and recovery
  • Inpatient care and patient monitoring
  • Nurse consultations and preventative healthcare
  • Client education and supporting owners with their pets' ongoing care
  • General patient care and supporting the wider veterinary team
  • Maintaining high standards across all areas of practice life

Our Long Melford practice is a well-established first opinion clinic with a loyal client base and a fantastic reputation within the local community. The team is made up of experienced veterinary surgeons, RVNs and support staff who have worked together for many years, creating a welcoming and collaborative atmosphere.

Hours & salary

Salary: £30,000 depending on experience
Full-time position - 40 hours per week
Flexible working pattern across 4 or 5 days
Practice opening hours: 8:00am - 7:00pm
Potential requirement to join a 1 in 6 Saturday rota at our Bury practice (to be confirmed)
