Registered Veterinary Nurse – Night Nurse

Location: Bury St Edmunds
Hours: Full Time | Night Shifts | Weekend Rota Participation Required
Salary: Β£31,000 basic + Β£60 per night shift (around Β£39,000)

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to join the night team at Swayne & Partners, Bury St Edmunds.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an RVN who enjoys working in a busy hospital environment and is passionate about providing excellent care to emergency and hospitalised patients overnight.

Working alongside the OOH veterinary team and other experienced nurses, you will play an important role in delivering high standards of patient care while developing your clinical skills within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high standards of patient and inpatient care throughout the night
  • Provide nursing care to emergency and hospitalised patients
  • Monitor patients closely and respond appropriately to changes in their condition
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinary team
  • Assist vets with emergency procedures and clinical cases
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
  • Communicate effectively with the veterinary and nursing teams
  • Provide clear and comprehensive handovers to the daytime team
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and infection control
  • Follow practice SOPs, clinical standards and patient care protocols
  • Work collaboratively with vets, RVNs, VCAs and reception teams
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive working environment
  • Develop and maintain your clinical knowledge and nursing skills

About You

  • We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a qualified and registered RVN
  • Has experience working in a busy clinical or hospital environment
  • Has excellent patient care and clinical skills
  • Is confident working independently and as part of a team
  • Has excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Is proactive, adaptable and compassionate
  • Has a strong commitment to clinical excellence and patient welfare
  • Is keen to develop their nursing skills and experience
  • Is comfortable working night shifts and participating in a weekend rota
