About the Role

An exciting leadership opportunity to drive the development, management and growth of NHS, medical insurance and commercial partnerships across the Group. You will play a pivotal role in maximising sustainable revenue and profitability while ensuring full compliance with contractual, regulatory and governance requirements. Working across multiple hospital locations, you will lead strategic partnerships that expand service delivery, improve patient access and strengthen market position. This is a highly influential role, working closely with operational, clinical and finance teams to ensure strong performance across all contracts and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • NHS & Commercial Partnerships
    • Lead the Group’s NHS and Commercial Partnerships Strategy
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with NHS commissioners, Integrated Care Systems, Trusts and key stakeholders
    • Develop and grow partnerships with private medical insurers and commercial partners
    • Identify, secure and deliver new NHS and commercial opportunities
    • Lead negotiations, partnership discussions and service expansion initiatives
  • Contract Management
    • Oversee all NHS, insurer and commercial contracts, lead contract renewals, variations and negotiations
    • Ensure full compliance with contractual obligations and performance standards
    • Monitor contract performance and implement improvement actions where required
    • Work with operational teams to ensure delivery of service levels and KPIs
  • Commercial Growth
    • Identify and develop new revenue opportunities across NHS and commercial markets
    • Support business case development for new services
    • Conduct market and competitor analysis to inform growth strategy
    • Develop referral pathways and partnership frameworks to enhance patient access
  • Leadership & People Management
    • Lead and develop the NHS & Commercial Partnerships function
    • Provide clear direction, support and performance management to the team
    • Build strong relationships across clinical, operational and support services
    • Engage effectively with Consultants and external partners

About You

You are a strong, empathetic and commercially astute healthcare leader who can build trust, influence at all levels, and drive meaningful change across complex stakeholder environments.

  • Minimum 3 years healthcare operational experience
  • Proven track record of growing business performance (EBITDAR focus)
  • Experience in regulated healthcare environments
  • Strong leadership and strategic planning capability
  • Experience in contract management and commercial negotiation
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Experience developing clinical governance and risk frameworks
  • Degree or Master’s level education
  • Senior management experience in independent acute healthcare
  • Experience of flexible workforce management across departments
