Are you an experienced Health Care Assistant or Support Worker with a desire to provide exceptional patient care in a hospital setting? Would you like to develop your career your way? We have a rare opportunity for an experienced healthcare assistant to join our surgical inpatients team. As a Care Support Worker, you will monitor patients’ conditions pre and post surgery, escalating to the nursing staff where necessary. You will be a strong and motivated individual who is absolutely patient focused, with a desire and proven ability to deliver healthcare at its best. This role is suitable for anyone who has previously worked in a health care environment as a Care Support Worker, Health Care Assistant, Clinical Support Worker, Imaging Assistant or Nursing Assistant. Experience in a hospital environment is advantageous but not essential.
Role Responsibilities
- Demonstrate good clinical practice at all times and be accountable for own actions
- Monitor patient’s observations in line with national standards throughout a patient admission
- Chaperone patients when required
- Willing to undertake phlebotomy when appropriately trained
- Ensure that your own professional development is maintained and enhanced
What we are looking for
- Have a good standard of general education with proven literacy and numeracy skills
- Have experience working in the Acute Care Setting as either a Care Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant or Clinical Support Worker
- Have proven communication skills
- Demonstrate basic IT skills
- Hold an NVQ level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care
- Have experience working as a Care Assistant, Clinical Support Worker or Care Support Worker in a hospital healthcare setting
- Have experience undertaking ECGs
- Have Phlebotomy experience
