Hospital Porter | KIMS Hospital, Maidstone
KIMS Hospital – Kent’s largest independent hospital – is looking for a Guest Services Porter to join our dedicated team. In this varied role, you’ll provide a first-class portering and concierge service that ensures every patient and visitor feels welcome, supported, and cared for.
Responsibilities
- Transporting patients, equipment, stores, pharmaceuticals, specimens, and waste materials.
- Meeting and greeting patients, visitors, consultants, and staff with professionalism and warmth.
- Assisting patients on admission or discharge, explaining facilities and offering support.
- Supporting hospital security by carrying out regular checks and responding to incidents.
- Acting as part of the hospital emergency response team, including cardiac arrest and fire response.
What we’re looking for
- A good standard of general education.
- Excellent customer service skills – polite, articulate, and professional at all times.
- Previous experience as a porter (ideally in a hospital setting).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stay calm and reliable under pressure.
- Organised, proactive, and a strong team player with natural friendliness.
