As a WSHO, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health, safety and well-being of our employees on construction sites. This is a full-time position that offers excellent growth opportunities within the organisation.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Undertake and execute roles and responsibilities as a WSHO, ECO, ECMO, and any other roles under statutory requirements; new roles may be added subject to legal requirement changes.
  • Assist in reviewing the WSHE management system and periodically provide recommendations.
  • Administer and implement the Company’s WSHE management system and procedures.
  • Develop, implement and monitor comprehensive safety policies and procedures to promote a strong safety culture.
  • Develop safety, health and environmental in-house training and promotional programs.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Provide safety training and education to all site personnel to increase awareness and compliance.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, and implement corrective and preventive measures.
  • Ensure work practices in the project are at all times in line with legal and 3rd-party audit requirements such as WSHE related, ISO, GGBS, ConSASS, BizSAFE and any new applicable legal requirements.
  • Follow up on the closure of findings raised by auditors, authorities, or interested parties with records.
  • Ensure the company’s compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation related to safety performance.
  • Collaborate with project managers and team members to integrate safety considerations into all aspects of project planning and execution.

What we’re looking for:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a WSHO in the construction industry.
  • Possess a valid WSHO, ECO, ECMO certificate and relevant safety certifications.
  • Strong understanding of construction safety regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Proactive and detail-oriented approach to ensuring workplace safety.
  • Able to adapt to a JV project environment quickly.
