We are currently seeking a highly motivated Senior R&D Engineer to join the Kimberly-Clark International Family Care and Professional (IFP) R&D Team, focused on the development, commercialisation, and life cycle maintenance of our Professional washroom dispensing systems. The role will report to the Consumer & Customer Interface Director within the IFP Innovation team.

In this role you will need to be seasoned enough to explain complex technical information to others and provide / present program updates and recommendations to stakeholders. Experience working with plastics injection molding would be advantageous, as would knowledge of IoT connectivity including back-end architecture, security, and programming. The role is critical to developing, commercialising, and maintaining a robust dispensing portfolio, including IoT solutions based on customer needs that will create an exceptional customer experience.

The incumbent will be a key contributor in ensuring quality and adherence to design specifications, they will work closely with internal and external development partners to prototype, test, and bring new designs and/or improvements to market. This position requires an individual with the ability to think customer globally and communicate across numerous functional groups.

Working with Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain, Quality, and Sales teams, this person will:

  • Drive projects to develop and commercialise washroom dispenser systems
  • Support proactive service maintenance and problem diagnosis, along with guiding and aiding in problem remediation
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying and kickstarting initiatives to improve stability, reliability, and availability
  • Provide customer facing technical support and problem resolution for IoT systems, including sensors, gateways and other peripherals.
  • Track customer complaints and lead customer facing technical support for advanced problems
  • Develop robust timelines and manage budgets for good project control
  • Plan and carry out project responsibilities with limited assistance and direction
  • Communicate and document project plans and results to key stakeholders
  • Document and protect intellectual property

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a related major scientific field or engineering discipline from an accredited university ideally with a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a variety of technical assignments
  • Experience in communicating with end users, business teams and management to collect requirements, describe product features and refine technical designs
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team to organise and drive projects to completion within required timeframes, managing internal teams and external joint development partners
  • Strong knowledge of modern IoT architecture and cloud-based software solutions
  • Good understanding of software development fundamentals and practical experience with different OS, programming languages, development tools and cloud services
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to manage timelines for development and deployment effectively
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
