Location: Whilst you will be predominately based at our Northfleet Mill, you will spend your 1st year with IPS Training located in Rochester.

Develop digital manufacturing capability: Engage with digital tools and systems used in modern manufacturing, such as data analytics, automation, and connected worker platforms. Participate in training and handsâon activities designed to build your digital skills, preparing you to operate and innovate in a highly digitised production environment. This includes learning about Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), digital visual management, and continuous improvement technologies, supporting the mill\âs journey toward the Factory of the Future.

As a member of the Northfleet Mill Reliability Workshop Team, you will have a exposure to a wide range of engineering technology, from heavy industrial machines in the Papermill through to the latest robotic technology in our Packaging assets.
You will be involved in the following:
Scheduled maintenance tasks across all areas of the site including:
Steam Generation
Water Treatment Systems
Paper Manufacturing Equipment
Converting Equipment
Packaging
Robot Palletising
Product Distribution
Manufacturing components and parts, using workshop equipment to include:
Lathes
Milling Machines
Pillar Drills
Grinders
Fabrication and welding
Electrical and Instrumentation, work to include:
Installation
Fault Finding, Diagnosis and repair
Preventative Maintenance
Calibration
Improvement Project Work, from design to delivery
Thermographic Surveys
Mechanical work to include:
Bench fitting
Pump, gearbox, valve repairs
Fault Finding, Diagnosis and repair
Preventative Maintenance
Your training & qualifications you will receive
Level 3 Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Diploma (BTEC Pearson)
Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering Maintenance (EAL)
Level 3 Maintenance Operations Engineering Technician Standard (Apprenticeship Certificate)
HNC in either Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

Entry requirements
Minimum 4 GCSEs (9â5/A*âC) including English, Mathematics, Science and Design Technology
Where this can take youComplete the apprenticeship and you could progress to a higherâlevel apprenticeship, degree and fullâtime employment. You\âll build interchangeable skills and an inâdepth understanding of manufacturing whilst opening doors to Technician or Engineer roles.
