In this role you will lead and deliver a comprehensive, on‐site Occupational Health (OH) service, encompassing (but not limited to) health surveillance and biological monitoring, drug and alcohol screening, fitness‐for‐work assessments, case management, and health promotion. This will be conducted in alignment with the OH Centre of Excellence clinical governance frameworks, as well as Kimberly‐Clark (K‐C) global standards, policies, and Mill‐specific strategic objectives.

As an Occupational Health Nurse Advisor you will provide expert OH guidance to the local site Leadership Team on all matters relating to the interaction between employee health and work, utilising evidence‐based clinical practice, alongside sound legal and commercial judgement. Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Barrow Mill Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) team, contributing to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of health‐related programmes and procedures.
  • Operate under the clinical governance and professional supervision of the global Occupational Health Centre of Excellence (OH CoE), actively participating in clinical audit, governance processes, training initiatives, and continuous professional development.
  • Liaise effectively with third‐party clinical providers including OH Physicians to ensure the high‐quality delivery and coordination of Mill‐based OH services.
  • Help identify potential health hazards, participate in the assessment and control of risk, and manage fitness for task and health surveillance programmes in line with local and global standards, and OH CoE clinical standard operating procedures.
  • Provide specialist OH advice, within the scope of the role, on the potential health impacts arising from physical, chemical, biological, and psychosocial hazards.

Required Qualifications:

  • The post holder will be on Part 3 of the Nursing & Midwifery Council Register (UK – Specialist Community Public Health Nurse).
  • You should hold a second level professional qualification in Occupational Health Nursing.
  • The post holder should be competent in the delivery of a full suite of occupational health service including, but not limited to health surveillance, biological monitoring, fitness for task assessment, case management, and health promotion.
  • Good analytical and problem‐solving skills are required, including the ability to use health data to identify, track, and report health trends and improve decision‐making to drive continuous improvement.
  • Strong internal customer interface and a demonstration of business alignment.
