This role is Kilwaughter, Co. Antrim

Purpose:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team and work as part of a growing business that is prepared to invest in your future.

We currently have an opportunity for a Quarry Operative to join our Operations team. As part of our Quarry team you will have the responsibility of operating quarry machinery to produce a range of products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for your own Health and Safety and that of your colleagues
  • Ensure compliance with company policies; Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental and FEMAS management systems
  • Operating automatic quarry machinery to produce products in line with production targets whilst ensuring all standards are achieved
  • Assist with improvements and efficiencies in all production aspects
  • Responsible for material waste management
  • Responsible for geotechnical face inspections
  • Ensure that machinery is in a safe and satisfactory working manner before use by conducting regular pre-production checks
  • Responsible for reporting any machine faults to manager or maintenance team
  • Ensure effective house- keeping in accordance with company procedures
  • Ensure appropriate paperwork is completed and maintained
  • Maintain files and records and provide quick accurate information when required
  • Ensure good relations and communications with all members and non-members of the team, providing excellent customer care in an efficient manner
  • Establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships with all work colleagues to ensure a ‘one team approach’ to deliver the company’s performance standards and the business objectives
  • Undertake duties considered by the company as within the competence of the role

Job Title: Quarry Operative

Criteria

Education

  • GCSE qualification in Maths & English minimum Grade C or equivalent.
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent

Experience

  • 1 years’ proven experience operating automatic processing machinery
  • 1 years’ experience of working with movement of rock from a quarry face
  • Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Experience of working to ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001
  • Working within the Quarrying / Milling industry

Skills and Competences

Fork-truck licence

Mobile Plant Licence (Articulated dumper /ridged dumper /loading shovel)

Strong team player with excellent communication skills, both oral and written

Good problem-solving skills

Ability to work on own initiative

Knowledge and implementation of Health & Safety

  • Working knowledge of FEMAS

Circumstances

  • Able to work flexible hours as required, overtime and a shift pattern
  • Normal colour vision
