An enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Technician is required to work alongside our established pharmacy team within General Practice. Our team currently consists of 1 Prescribing Clerk, 1 Pharmacy Technician and 2 Clinical Pharmacists.
You must have excellent communication and organisational skills, a Level 3 Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent is essential and registered with the General Pharmacy Council (GPhC). Ideally you will have completed the CPPE Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway course.
Main duties of the job:
- Undertake repeat prescribing duties for Appliance and enhanced monitoring prescriptions.
- Add medication from discharge letters and clinical letters to patients' electronic record.
- Refer to the Practice Pharmacist when appropriate.
- Provide first point of contact for patients requesting repeat medication.
- Liaise with Community Pharmacists regarding vulnerable patients.
- Undertake Medication Review Clinics.
- Ordering of medications.
- Undertake Medicines Management Prescribing scheme initiatives.
- Assist in monthly PPA claims.
- Undertake an immunisation course to then participate in flu campaigns.
Our Practice is within a purpose-built Primary Care Centre in the heart of Nantwich with 20 clinical rooms and 1 operating suite on the ground floor from which we provide a minor surgery provision and an onsite Research Team. Nantwich is a charming historical market town, set beside the river Weaver, with excellent transport links.
We serve a population of circa 13,000 patients and our medical team comprises of 6 GP Partners, 2 salaried GPs, 3 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, 1 Nurse Practitioner, 3 Practice Nurses, and 1 Health Care Support Worker and 2 Physiotherapists.
Job responsibilities:
- Work as a flexible member of the team to ensure the smooth running of the practice, providing support to other team members when necessary.
- Support the equality, diversity and rights of patients, carers and colleagues.
- Participate in any training programme implemented by the practice as part of this employment.
- Strive to maintain quality within the practice.
- Communicate effectively with other team members and with patients and carers.
