About the role
We are seeking a highly analytical and commercially curious Assistant Merchandiser to join our Head Office team. This role focuses on sales performance, stock planning and trading analysis across our retail and e-commerce channels. From day one, you will contribute to driving sales, optimising stock efficiency and supporting margin performance. This opportunity is suited to a high-potential graduate or early-career professional (0–2 years’ experience) who is eager to take ownership, develop quickly and build a long-term career in merchandising.
Responsibilities
- Planning & Range Management
- Support forecasting and intake planning aligned to sales and stock targets
- Maintain WSSI documents, range plans and critical paths with accuracy and commercial awareness
- Contribute analysis to range and seasonal reviews, identifying risks and opportunities
- Provide clear, timely performance insight to support decision‑making
- Own the production and distribution of weekly and ad‑hoc sales, stock and KPI reports to Merchandising, Buying, Retail and E‑commerce teams
- Contribute commentary to weekly trade meetings, highlighting performance drivers and recommended actions
- Monitor sell‑through, stock cover and margin performance across channels
- Proactively identify best and worst sellers, stock imbalances and emerging trends
- Support promotional and markdown activity to optimise sell‑through and profitability
- Monitor stock levels across stores, warehouse and online to maintain availability and efficiency
- Raise and track purchase orders, maintaining accurate delivery schedules
- Partner with warehouse to resolve delivery issues and discrepancies
- Support stock transfers and stocktakes with strong attention to detail
- Maintain accurate product, pricing and stock data across internal systems
- Build strong working relationships with stores, e‑commerce, wholesale & warehouse teams
- Respond to store and e‑commerce queries with clear, data-led recommendations
- Contribute to a commercially focused, collaborative team culture
Skills & Experience
- Graduate calibre or 0–2 years’ experience in a merchandising, retail head office or analytical role
- Strong numerical and analytical capability
- Confident Excel skills (formulas essential; Pivot Tables and XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP advantageous)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Genuine interest in retail performance and commercial decision‑making
- Degree in Fashion, Business, Economics or related discipline
- Experience using merchandising, stock or ERP systems
