Join our BB Kilpatrick team as a Senior Procurement Manager on our Sizewell alliance and you’ll deliver complex work that really matters to our business, and the world around you!
We are open to base location for this role however the successful candidate will need to be at our Aztec West, Bristol office a minimum of once a week.
What you’ll be doing
- Act as primary point of contact for all Contract Management matters relating to a supplier/contract assigned to them.
- Work closely and pro-actively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, as part of a multi-disciplinary team within a technically complex Programme.
- Promote the SZC Project, its values and behaviours and ensure that SZC Project requirements are met and successfully delivered.
- Make decisions and undertake Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities as defined below and in accordance with delegated levels of commitment and authority.
- Regularly report on contract scope of work/services, schedule, prices and rates, key personnel, and incentive arrangements.
- Manage the contract commercial relationship, providing support to the Project Manager to ensure effective delivery of the contract.
- Establish effective collaborative arrangements and work in a spirit of mutual trust and cooperation to achieve ‘win-win’ equitable commercial outcomes.
Who we’re looking for
The following skills and experience are required:
- Proven ability to work within a complex major project/programme environment in both procurement and post-procurement phases.
- Evidence of successfully administering complex contracts.
- Effective Management and Leadership skills, with clear knowledge of best practice contract methodologies in the UK environment.
- Honed commercial skills and demonstrable ability to make sound decisions on complex matters of high financial value.
- Good understanding of procurement, contract performance measurement, risk management, and change and claim management.
- Excellent negotiating, influencing, and communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in a dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience of standard forms of contract (NEC and FIDIC) within the power/construction industry on complex major projects/programmes.
- Member of RICS/ICE/CICES/IOB or equivalent professional body.
