We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor for our Housing Response and Maintenance team in Worthing, West Sussex. The role involves pricing materials and labour for responsive repairs, managing the financial performance of each workstream, and ensuring cost efficiency to maximise value for our social housing client.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively price materials and labour using SORs.
  • Manage financial and technical aspects of the contract (procurement, budgeting, invoicing, cash flow, cost control).
  • Minimise costs and maximise value, profit and cash flow.
  • Ensure labour targets and subcontractor management to deliver agreed profit performance.
  • Build and maintain relationships with workforce, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
  • Produce monthly contract valuations of actual deliverables against projected budget.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a similar commercial or Quantity Surveying role, preferably with SOR contracts and social housing clients.
  • Strong ability to minimise cost and maximise value, profit and cash flow.
  • Strong IT and Microsoft Excel skills – essential for high‑volume data analysis.
  • Experience in direct labour and subcontract procurement.
  • Knowledge of reactive maintenance contracts; SOR (Schedule of Rates) experience is a plus.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: £66,538 (including a car allowance of £6,700). The base pay is £59,838, plus a private mileage scheme, fuel card, pension, health and life insurance, and a profit share scheme (14% last year).
