Role Description
This is a full-time role based in Glasgow, hopefully running a team of Engineers. The Director will oversee and manage engineering projects, including civil, structural, geotechnical, and environmental aspects. Responsibilities include leading a team of engineers, providing technical guidance, ensuring project compliance with regulations, and maintaining quality standards. The role also involves engaging with clients, preparing detailed engineering reports, managing budgets, and assisting with business development activities.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in civil, structural, geotechnical, or environmental engineering
- Proficiency in engineering design and analysis, including highways, bridges, foundations, and drainage
- Proven leadership skills, with experience managing a team and overseeing projects
- Strong project management capabilities, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Excellent communication skills for client interactions, reporting, and presentations
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, along with membership in a professional body (e.g., ICE, IStructE)
- Knowledge of UK engineering standards and regulations
- Proficiency in relevant software tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other engineering platforms
- Experience in the energy sector, particularly in wind, hydro, biomass, or solar projects, is beneficial
- Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver results under tight deadlines
