If you’re looking to develop your career in planning, take on more responsibility and work on technically challenging projects, this role offers real scope for growth and progression.

What You’ll Do

  • Play an active role in both tender and project planning, supporting the development of winning programmes and successful project delivery
  • Assist in creating and maintaining robust, compliant project programmes aligned with contract requirements
  • Work closely with project teams to understand construction methodologies, sequencing and outputs
  • Contribute to the development of construction strategies, phasing plans and handover approaches
  • Produce and manage key planning deliverables including programmes, reports and progress updates
  • Support the preparation of tender programmes tailored to client requirements
  • Monitor progress against programme, providing clear insights on performance and potential risks
  • Develop lookahead programmes to support short-, medium- and long-term planning
  • Identify and communicate risks, opportunities and programme improvements
  • Support resource planning, helping to coordinate labour, plant and materials effectively
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and stakeholders to ensure alignment and resolve planning challenges
  • Work with commercial teams to understand key milestones and contractual drivers
  • Communicate programmes clearly to stakeholders, supporting informed decision‑making

What You’ll Need

  • Experience in a planning, construction or engineering role, or a strong site‑based/technical background looking to move into planning
  • Exposure to planning tools such as Primavera P6 or ASTA Powerproject (or willingness to develop expertise)
  • Understanding of construction processes, sequencing and project delivery principles
  • Awareness of NEC and/or JCT contracts and their impact on planning
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, high‑quality outputs
  • Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across multidisciplinary teams
  • Proactive, adaptable and solutions‑focused mindset
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast‑paced project environment
  • A genuine interest in developing a career in planning within construction
  • Relevant CSCS card – this is essential
  • OND/HND or progress towards professional membership (RICS/CIOB/ICE/CIBSE) desirable
  • Alignment with Kilnbridge values: Responsibility, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence
