What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead day to day site operations, ensuring inspections are completed to a high standard and all actions are closed out efficiently.
  • Play a key role in shaping a strong safety culture by delivering confident site inductions, toolbox talks, and briefings, while ensuring full PPE compliance and encouraging proactive use of Notify.
  • Bring trade teams together to deliver high quality work on time, resolving challenges and driving continuous improvement across the site.
  • Carry out regular inspections of installations, plant, equipment, and materials to maintain exceptional safety, compliance, and organisation.
  • Take ownership of coordinating deliveries and managing on hire and off hire requirements, supporting efficient material and equipment use and minimising waste.
  • Ensure supervisors maintain clear, accurate records and allocation sheets that support strong communication and project reporting.
  • Provide technical input to the project programme and contribute to practical solutions when project challenges arise.
  • Keep Project Managers updated on progress, workforce capability, and the quality of completed works.
  • Maintain a tidy, well-presented site with appropriate welfare facilities and help cultivate a positive, engaged team culture.
  • Lead and develop supervisory and trade teams through effective coaching, onboarding, performance reviews, and workforce planning, including holidays, absence, and training needs.
  • Make commercially aware decisions and support the wider team in weekly and monthly cost management processes.

What You’ll Need

  • NVQ Level 5 or Level 6, plus SMSTS, PASMA, Leading Edge, Manual Handling, Working at Height Awareness and MEWPS for Managers.
  • Strong English communication skills with the ability to motivate teams, assess competence and address performance when required.
  • Calm, positive and collaborative approach with the ability to build strong relationships across clients, colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisation, planning and attention to detail along with sound commercial awareness of material and labour costs.
  • Solid understanding of KCSL policies and procedures, safe systems of work and typical construction methods and processes.
  • Proven experience including at least three years as a Construction Manager, three years as a Non Working Front Line Supervisor and five years in a supervisory construction role.
  • Confidence to stop unsafe work, maintain high safety standards and support the development and mentoring of others.
  • Commitment to open communication, team problem solving, recognition of success, accountability and maintaining respectful relationships.
  • Alignment with core values of responsibility, integrity, teamwork and excellence.
  • Strong understanding of Health and Safety responsibilities including hazard identification, incident reporting, safe systems of work and consistent PPE use.
  • Willingness to understand all company policies and undertake additional duties appropriate to the role when required.
