Overview
As a Concrete Cutting Apprentice, you will learn how to safely and efficiently saw, cut, drill, and remove concrete structures using specialist equipment. This hands‑on role combines on‑site experience with formal training, leading to a recognised qualification in construction operations or specialist concrete cutting. Upon completion of the apprenticeship you will receive a NVQ level 2 in Concrete Cutting.
Responsibilities
- Guiding saws or drills during cutting operations to ensure the concrete fits the space intended and matches the specifications
- Learn to interpret technical drawings and site plans
- Support the setup and maintenance of cutting equipment
- Follow health and safety procedures, including PPE use and hazard awareness
- Help prepare work areas and clean up after tasks
- Attend college or training centre sessions as part of the apprenticeship programme. Completing tasks set by the college – meeting deadlines set
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and training progress
CSCS Labourers card is desirable - Level 4 or above in both Maths and English
- An interest in construction
- Able to use Microsoft office applications such as Word etc.
- Good communication skills
- Punctual
