The Role
We're looking for an experienced Work Winning Team Lead to join our growing Preconstruction function and play a leading role in securing major infrastructure, engineering and construction projects across the UK.
This is a senior, client-facing position for someone who understands how projects are planned, priced, procured and delivered. You'll lead a portfolio of tender opportunities, bringing together operational, commercial, estimating and technical teams to develop winning strategies and deliver high-quality submissions.
Whether you're currently a Project Manager, Contracts Manager, Preconstruction Manager, Senior Bid Manager or Bid Lead, this role offers the opportunity to influence major projects at the earliest stages and help shape Kilnbridge's future pipeline of work.
You'll be a confident leader with strong commercial awareness, excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to challenge construction methodologies, programmes and risk positions to ensure every submission is both competitive and deliverable.
What You'll Do
-
Lead a portfolio of concurrent tender opportunities from bid approval through to submission, negotiation and project handover.
-
Develop tender strategies, win themes, programmes, procurement approaches and risk plans alongside senior business leaders.
-
Coordinate multidisciplinary bid teams, including estimating, planning, technical, commercial, operational and supply chain stakeholders.
-
Chair tender reviews, governance meetings and adjudications, ensuring clear accountability and progression throughout the process.
-
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key project stakeholders.
-
Lead client communications, tender clarifications, negotiations and post-tender engagement activities.
-
Challenge methodology, logistics, sequencing, buildability and delivery strategies to strengthen tender solutions.
-
Support commercial reviews, pricing challenges, risk assessments and tender settlements.
-
Ensure submissions are compliant, compelling and aligned with both client requirements and Kilnbridge standards.
-
Drive successful handovers to project delivery teams, ensuring assumptions, risks and commitments are clearly understood.
-
Act as an ambassador for Kilnbridge, representing the business professionally throughout the work-winning process.
What You'll Bring
-
Experience within the construction, infrastructure, engineering or specialist contracting sectors.
-
Previous experience in a Project Manager, Contracts Manager, Preconstruction Manager, Bid Manager, Bid Lead or similar role.
-
Strong understanding of construction delivery, tendering and preconstruction processes.
-
The ability to balance commercial awareness with operational practicality and risk management.
-
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and driving collaboration across functions.
-
Excellent client-facing, communication and presentation skills.
-
Strong planning, organisational and decision-making capabilities.
-
The ability to manage multiple complex opportunities simultaneously while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
-
A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the confidence to challenge, influence and lead.
-
Alignment with Kilnbridge's values of Responsibility, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence.
