We are now looking for a General/ Kitchen Assistant to work full-time in our Avila care home in Bessbrook.
PAY RATE: £12.71 per hour
Our Avila Nursing Home is set in a peaceful, rural setting and provides exceptional care to its 49 residents. The role of General/ Kitchen Assistant is an important role in the nursing home as it looks after the cleanliness of the home.
SOME OF THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Undertake general cleaning of all areas within the home including the care of floors, furniture & fittings, toilets, baths & showers, trolleys, radiators and beds
- The cleaning of kitchen and food preparation areas, dry goods store and dining room including the washing of pots/pans and sink duties
- Assist in the preparation of food
- Assist in the service of all meals and snacks
- Observe the correct use of equipment
- Report any breakdowns or defects in machinery or materials to the cook or person in charge
- Ensure that all liquids, cleaning materials and solvents are locked away at all times
- Observe good hygiene practices
- Report any accident/incident which may occur
- Observe good safety practices at all times, thus ensuring the safety of residents, staff and members of the public
- Assist in areas as required by Management
