We are now looking for a General/Kitchen Assistant to work 18-24 hours in our St Macartans Nursing Home in Clogher, Co Tyrone.

PAY RATE: £12.71 per hour

Our St Macartans Nursing Home is set in a peaceful, rural setting and provides exceptional care to its 33 residents. The role of General/Kitchen Assistant is an important role in the nursing home as it looks after the cleanliness of the home.

SOME OF THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Undertake general cleaning of all areas within the home including the care of floors, furniture & fittings, toilets, baths & showers, trolleys, radiators and beds.
  • The cleaning of kitchen and food preparation areas, dry goods store and dining room including the washing of pots/pans and sink duties.
  • Assist in the preparation of food.
  • Assist in the service of all meals and snacks.
  • Observe the correct use of equipment.
  • Report any breakdowns or defects in machinery or materials to the cook or person in charge.
  • Ensure that all liquids, cleaning materials and solvents are locked away at all times.
  • Observe good hygiene practices.
  • Report any accident/incident which may occur.
  • Observe good safety practices at all times, thus ensuring the safety of residents, staff and members of the public.
  • Assist in areas as required by Management.
