We now have a great opportunity for a Care Assistant in our Avila Nursing Home, Bessbrook.

Full time hours. Hourly rate £12.82 - £13.32, depending on experience. No COS is offered for this position.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to residents in our Avila Nursing Home in Bessbrook, Newry. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting residents with daily activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while working within a supportive team environment.

Duties:

  • Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Support clients with mobility and daily routines in accordance with personalised care plans.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' quality of life.
  • Help with feeding as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to senior staff.
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment for clients at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and team members to ensure consistent care delivery.
  • Use IT systems to document care activities and update client records where necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided.
  • Good understanding of care plans and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, for effective communication.
  • Basic IT skills for documentation purposes.
  • Excellent communication skills, empathetic nature, and the ability to build rapport with clients.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a caring environment.
