Location: The position will be based between our Dunfermline and Dundee offices, with some travel required to schools, colleges and events, so a driving licence would be beneficial. Hourly rate will be discussed, with the potential for this to lead into a full-time opportunity for the right candidate.

About the role: The role is designed to give a really strong, hands-on experience across:

  • Community engagement and social value delivery
  • Employability, education and STEM activity
  • Sustainability and wellbeing initiatives
  • Marketing, content creation and communications

It will involve a mix of office and site-based experience, giving full exposure to how these areas are delivered and reported within a live business environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Social Value & Community Engagement: Support engagement with local communities, schools, colleges, charities and key stakeholders. Assist with organising and attending community events, site visits, careers events and “meet the contractor” sessions. Support delivery of STEM activities and employability initiatives. Assist with work experience placements, apprenticeships and careers engagement. Help coordinate volunteering activities, donations and community projects. Act as a positive ambassador for Kilmac within the local community.
  • Social Value Delivery & Reporting: Support delivery of project-specific social value commitments aligned to client and framework requirements. Assist in tracking employment outcomes including apprenticeships, placements and local labour. Gather evidence of good practice (photos, attendance records, feedback and case studies). Maintain trackers, logs and evidence folders to support reporting. Assist with preparation of social value reports for internal teams and clients. Support environmental and wellbeing initiatives across projects.
  • Marketing & Communications: Assist with creation of content for social media, newsletters, website updates and project communications. Support development of case studies, project updates and social value stories. Assist with maintaining site noticeboards and community communications. Support marketing campaigns and help track engagement/performance where required. Ensure all communications reflect Kilmac’s brand and values.
  • Monitoring, Reporting & Administration: Support data collection for social value and marketing reporting (e.g. hours, engagement, outcomes). Maintain organised records and support internal reporting requirements. Assist with general administrative duties including scheduling, coordination and document management.

Requirements:

  • A genuine interest in social value, marketing or construction.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with a range of people.
  • Organised, reliable and able to manage tasks with support.
  • Basic IT skills (Microsoft Office and social media platforms).
