Key responsibilities include managing breakfast service, food safety/HACCP compliance, stock control, and assisting in general kitchen duties.
- Running the breakfast service, preparing hot/cold items, and maintaining the hot food and cold food buffets, including breads and pastries.
- Ensure that you are correctly dressed in uniform.
- Cooking to order (eggs, breakfast meats) and preparing all food to high standards, ensuring quantity and choice is available to residents.
- Monitor and control food storage, ensuring that ingredients are stored correctly and that food waste is minimised.
- Ordering breakfast stock with Head Chef, inventory and stock rotation, and cleaning after self, HACCP, etc.
- Strict adherence to HACCP, health, and food hygiene regulations and allergen awareness.
- Assisting with lunch or prep for other kitchen sections.
- Handle special dietary requirements and guest preferences with care and attention, ensuring that all guests have a positive breakfast experience.
- Work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure that breakfast service runs smoothly, and that guests receive their orders promptly.
- Maintain a professional working relationship with all departments across the hotel.
- Provide guidance and training to junior kitchen staff, ensuring that they follow the correct procedures and maintain high standards.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Breakfast Chef.
- Good standard of education.
- Working knowledge of breakfast cuisine.
- Basic Food Hygiene Food Safety certificate.
- Previous hotel breakfast service experience.
- Working knowledge and experience of all sections of the kitchen/a la carte/banqueting/desserts/snacks/afternoon teas.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and challenging environment and maintain a consistently high standard of food delivery under pressure.
- L3 Supervising Food Safety, First Aid at Work.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United Kingdom, National Insurance number and Bank Account.
