About Us
Kilgannon & Partners is an innovative, values-led law firm specialising in employment and immigration law. We empower our people to be the best, working efficiently and supportively. Free from politics, ego and burnout, we were built to break away from rigid, outdated law firm models offering a modern alternative grounded in flexibility, fairness, and integrity. Our close-knit firm thrives on a culture of respect and inclusion. We do meaningful, high-impact work for a wide range of clients. We’re a firm without politics, ego, burnout or unrealistic billing targets, allowing us to focus on delivering excellent service with exceptional results. We’re remote-first by design, but intentionally social, creating regular opportunities for collaboration and connection. We are creating a smart infrastructure based on modern technology and strong leadership where our people are trusted to work in ways that fit their lives, not the other way around. We prioritise wellbeing and work-life balance, recognising that people do their best work when they’re supported both professionally and personally.
The Role
We are looking for a skilled Employment Solicitor to join our growing team, who is technically competent and able to manage a broad caseload with a strong, almost exclusive, focus on advising individuals. You’ll have autonomy over your work while benefiting from the support of experienced colleagues. You’ll also be encouraged to contribute to business development and build your professional profile. We are structured where a customer services team handles all enquiries and onboarding of new clients on your behalf, leaving you free to focus on delivering exceptional advice and service to clients.
Your work will include both contentious and non-contentious matters, such as:
- Claims under the Employment Rights Act and Equality Act
- Employment Tribunal matters
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload independently
- Advise clients on a wide range of employment law matters
- Draft, amend and review legal documents, including grievances, settlement agreements and pleadings
- Represent clients in negotiations and Employment Tribunal proceedings
- Undertake advocacy if you want to; otherwise, you will need to work with in-house/external counsel
- Build and maintain strong client relationships – proactively seeking 5 star reviews for your work
- Stay up to date with legal developments
- Contribute to business development (e.g. writing articles, building profile)
About You
- Qualified Solicitor with 5+ years’ PQE in employment law (more senior candidates, including Partner level, welcome)
- Strong technical knowledge of employment law and tribunal procedures
- Excellent communication and client management skills
- Comfortable managing a busy caseload with minimal supervision
- Self-motivated, organised, and able to work both independently and collaboratively
- Professional, commercially aware, and client-focused
What We Offer
- Competitive salary and bonus structure
- 25 days’ holiday, with the option to buy up to 5 additional days
- Genuine remote working with flexible hours
- Supportive, collaborative, and values-driven culture
- No unrealistic chargeable hours expectations
- Clear progression opportunities (if desired)
- Ongoing training and professional development
- Regular social events
- Modern, user-friendly systems integrated with Outlook and Word
- Dedicated client services team handling enquiries and onboarding on your behalf
