Job Purpose
The Head of Academy at Kilburn Islamic Centre is responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of educational and spiritual programmes for children. This includes leading staff, creating age-appropriate curricula aligned with Islamic values, developing strong communication with parents to support pupils’ growth and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Management: Develop, implement, and regularly review the curriculum to ensure students are maximising their potential.
- Staff Management: Oversee staff attendance, provide relevant training, and offer guidance to ensure effective performance.
- Parent Relations: Keep parents informed and engaged in their children’s education, develop meaningful relationships with the families.
- Behavioural Management: Ensure students' behaviour is exemplary, aligned with Islamic values and the ethos of the centre.
- Administration: Manage student attendance and punctuality, tuition fees, class arrangements and more.

Therefore, this will lead to additional responsibilities such as, leading prayers, performing sermons and conducting classes.
Person Specification
Education
- Bachelor's Degree: Relevant University degree or equivalent (Essential)
- Qualified in Memorisation of Qur’an (Essential)
Experience
- Experience: Three years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within a non-profit or religious organisation. (Essential)
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of educational strategies to enhance the organisation, with the ability to apply this knowledge effectively. (Desirable)
