Position Overview
This position is based in Darlington, ON, and is a full-time temporary role in the Nuclear market.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced technical input on steel composite structures, ensuring compliance with nuclear safety and project specifications.
- Lead constructability assessments of design packages, identifying potential site issues and proposing practical solutions.
- Prepare and review construction method statements, interface with the planning team to align design delivery with construction schedules and client milestones.
- Respond to technical queries from site and client teams.
- Support the implementation of design methodologies and quality procedures, contributing to continuous improvement and team efficiency.
- Liaise with construction, procurement, and client representatives to ensure alignment of design intent with execution requirements.
- Support the Technical Manager in preparing KPIs, progress reports, and presentations for senior management and client updates.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in civil engineering.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in structural steel/composite design and construction, preferably within nuclear, power, or large-scale industrial projects.
- Professional Engineering (P.Eng) Designation is considered an asset.
- Proven track record in constructability reviews and site-based engineering support.
- Strong knowledge of ASME codes and nuclear safety standards.
- Experience drafting and reviewing method statements, risk assessments, and construction schedules.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to manage queries and interface with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
- High attention to detail and safety.
- Organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize and multi-task.
