Are you ready to take your surveying expertise to the next level? We're looking for a Senior Building Surveyor to join our dynamic Kier Design team in Cambridge, Gerrards Cross, Lincoln, or Nottingham. You'll play a pivotal role in delivering innovative design and professional services across diverse sectors, shaping the built environment for both public and private clients. This position involves travel for site inspections and client meetings across varied UK locations.
Location: Cambridge, Gerrards Cross, Lincoln or Nottingham
Hours: 37.5 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per year + benefits
What will you be responsible for?
As a Senior Building Surveyor, you'll be part of our Architecture & Building Consultancy team, delivering expert surveying services to both public and private sector clients. Your role will include conducting detailed building surveys, preparing condition reports, and advising on maintenance, improvements, development, or demolition. You'll provide guidance on compliance, health & safety, sustainability, planning, and building regulations, ensuring clients receive practical, tailored solutions.
Your day to day will include:
- Conduct detailed surveys of buildings and sites, producing reports and recommendations for maintenance, refurbishment, or redevelopment.
- Advise clients on building condition, compliance, sustainability, and regulatory requirements.
- Design and specify solutions for projects ranging from restoration to demolition.
- Manage projects end-to-end, including procurement and contract administration.
- Mentor junior surveyors and ensure quality standards across the team.
- Build strong client relationships and contribute to business development.
What are we looking for?
This role of Senior Building Surveyor is great if you have:
- Degree-level qualification in Building Surveying or related discipline (RICS accredited).
- Chartered status (MRICS or CIOB).
- Proven experience across a variety of building types and sectors.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes and contract administration (JCT/NEC).
