We're looking for an Engineer to join our team based in Exeter, Ipswich, or Salford. Location: Exeter, Ipswich, or Salford – remote working available with occasional travel to the office required. Hours: 37.5 per week – some flexibility on hours is available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.
What will you be responsible for?
As an Engineer – Drainage and Water, you'll work within the Design team, supporting them in delivering compliant and sustainable drainage and water solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high‐quality, sustainable drainage and water solutions across a range of projects. You'll support the design lead on assigned work packages, contributing to design coordination and helping to ensure programme, budget, and risk commitments are met. The role includes providing technical input to the team, sharing knowledge, and supporting early‐career engineers where required, whilst maintaining consistent standards and best practice in delivery.
Your day to day will include:
- Delivering assigned tasks within work packages to a high standard, taking ownership of technical outputs
- Applying relevant design standards, regulations, and quality processes consistently
- Managing the delivery of individual tasks within programme and budget, escalating issues and proposing solutions
- Working collaboratively with multi‐disciplinary teams, internal stakeholders, and external partners
- Contributing to knowledge sharing and technical development within the team, and providing guidance to early‐career engineers
What are we looking for?
- Demonstrable technical competence in Drainage & Water engineering, with experience delivering tasks across one or more sectors
- Ability to work autonomously at a task level, taking ownership of technical outputs while supporting wider package delivery
- Experience applying relevant design standards, regulations, and quality processes consistently
- Aware of programme, budget, and risk considerations for assigned tasks, escalating issues appropriately
- Hold a full driving licence and be willing to travel as required
