We're looking for a Highways Maintenance Operative (HMO) to join our Transportation team based in Aylesford, Kent to carry out a variety of highway maintenance duties as instructed on a day-to-day basis to ensure the efficient running of the Area 4 network. We need you to have a fully valid driving licence. This is essential so that you can drive our vehicles to the site, carrying the tools and equipment required.

Location: Aylesford, Kent

Contract: Permanent – Days & some nights

Salary: £12.60 - £15.34 (depending on experience) plus benefits

Responsibilities

  • Carry out highway maintenance duties as instructed, including winter maintenance when appropriate.
  • Respond promptly to incidents on the network as instructed.
  • Work in close cooperation with team members and subcontractors, contributing to the maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment for both the network users and work team by ensuring compliance with all H&S procedures.
  • Contribute to the promotion of customer care by working closely with team members to ensure client and network users are dealt with in a polite and courteous manner.
  • Responsible for notification to Network Control Centre on commencement and end of winter maintenance and occupation of Roadspace for Traffic Management.
