Overview
Construction Management Student sought to join the Construction team in Witham for an Industrial Placement. Location: Witham, with flexibility to travel across the region. Starting date: September 2026. Pathway: 12 months, 40 hours per week, with potential to lead onto a Graduate position. Starting salary: £26,208 per annum. This placement offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience, receive mentorship from experienced professionals, and build a foundation in construction management and related disciplines. This role is part of Kier’s placement programme and supports progression within your chosen career. Note: We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship for candidates in this role.

What you will be responsible for
As an Industrial Placement Construction Manager, you will support the planning, coordination, and supervision of construction projects to ensure on-time delivery and quality. You will gain hands-on experience, receive mentorship, and develop a strong foundation in quantity surveying and construction management.
Your day-to-day duties
- Assisting in the planning, execution, and management of projects.
- Collaborating with team members and stakeholders to support project objectives.
- Conducting research and analysis to inform project decisions and strategies.
- Preparing reports, presentations, and documentation related to project activities.
How the placement works
Participants join Kier’s industrial placement scheme for 12 months to immerse themselves in the world of construction, gain practical experience on real-world projects, and apply learnings from their degree.
What are we looking for
We are seeking students undertaking a degree in Construction Management or a related field who have the option or requirement to complete a placement year in 2025–2026. After the placement, you are expected to return to university with a graduation year of 2027.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
