Job Description
We're looking for a Handyperson to join our Ministry of Justice team based in East London & Essex. Location: East London & Essex – remote working not applicable, this is a mobile role with travel across the London portfolio Hours: 40 hours per week We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role. What will you be responsible for?
As a Handyperson, you'll be working within the Ministry of Justice team, supporting them in delivering Facilities Management Hard & Technical Services across the National Probation Service Estate. Your day to day will include: Carrying out general maintenance such as fixing carpeting, hanging items, patching paintwork, minor plumbing and joinery repairs Responding to reactive maintenance calls and completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) Supporting site inspections, updating records, and ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures Assisting other team members and maintaining effective communication with clients and stakeholders Ensuring the presentation and functionality of buildings meet required standards What are we looking for? This role of Handyperson is great for you if: You have previous experience in a general maintenance role, ideally within Building Services, FM or Property Maintenance You hold relevant industry qualifications, including CSCS card and certifications such as Working at Height/IPAF/PASMA You have strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, and a good level of computer literacy You hold a Full UK driving licence and are willing to participate in a callout rota (1 week in 4) We're all about finding potential here at Kier, and transferrable skills are always welcome!
