Environmental Manager

We’re looking for an experienced Environmental Manager to join our Transportation team based in Gloucester to oversee complex environmental issues, ensure compliance and champion sustainability throughout the project.

Location : Gloucester (A417 site/office based)
Contract : Permanent Full-time
Salary : £55,000 – £60,000 per year + £5.9k car allowance + private healthcare + benefits

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert guidance on all aspects of environmental management, ensuring full compliance across the board.
• Advance Kier Transportation’s Sustainability Strategy, drive initiatives, set ambitious targets and achieve milestones outlined in the A417 One Planet Action Plan (OPAP).
• Ensure that National Highways environmental requirements and commitments are met, collate evidence of completion and close out.
• Make sure all environmental consents and permits are identified, in place in a timely manner and that all conditions are complied with.
• Work proactively with project delivery teams to understand and manage environmental issues, providing support and guidance.
• Lead the implementation of Kier Transportation One Planet Action Plan on the project.
• Oversee the production of a quarterly carbon footprint, producing monthly progress reports for the project and Kier management.

Qualifications

• Environmental/Sustainability degree or equivalent.
• Professional or full member of an environmental or sustainability institute (e.g., ISEP).
• Considerable experience in a construction environmental management role.
