We're looking for an Electrician to join our Transportation team based in London. The TfL Tunnels and Pump Station team undertake maintenance of mechanical, electrical and control systems for 10 London road tunnels and 107 pump stations, as well as renewals, intelligent transport systems, safety inspections and cleaning. Hours: 42 hours per week, Monday to Sunday, rolling shift pattern
What will you be responsible for?
- As an Electrician, you'll be working within the Maintenance team, supporting them in undertaking planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance, emergency responses on a variety of electrical systems and associated apparatus.
- Your day to day will include:
- Carrying out electrical maintenance duties as instructed, on a variety of ventilation, lighting, power, pumping and tunnel control systems, completing daily defect reports on vehicles and ensuring vehicles are maintained in good order.
- Responding to equipment faults in the tunnels and pump stations as instructed, diagnosing and repairing defects.
- Working closely with team members and subcontractors, contributing to the maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment for both the tunnel users and work teams, by ensuring compliance with all relevant health & safety regulations.
- Contributing to the promotion of customer care by working closely with team members to ensure client and tunnel users are dealt with in a polite and courteous manner.
- Operating a variety of equipment and plant vehicles carrying out required duties effectively, ensuring that site and company equipment is always secure, raising problems/queries with the designated Supervisor.

- You are a fully qualified Electrician, with a JIB Gold card, 18th IEE regulations, ECS Electricians card and CSCS H&S card.
- Have experience working on 3-phase motor supply and control circuits, variable speed drives, pumps and pump control systems.
- Can read electrical drawings/schematics and hold G39 safe isolation, along with HV switching or HV awareness.
